Legal Battle Over Mohbad’s Death Reaches Verdict

Justice Taiwo Olatokun ruled that the Attorney General of Lagos State has absolute prosecutorial discretion. The court emphasized that the DPP’s legal advice could not be legally challenged.

Aloba’s legal team argued that the suspects were discharged before the coroner’s inquest concluded. They claimed this undermined the investigation and denied the family a fair hearing.

The Attorney General and DPP maintained that the suspects were not acquitted but discharged due to insufficient evidence. They stressed that their actions did not interfere with the coroner’s proceedings.
