Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\nDevelop\u00a0activity plans\u00a0for\u00a0malaria parasite-based diagnosis\u00a0based on\u00a0the\u00a0annual\u00a0work plan<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop\u00a0ToRs\u00a0for\u00a0implementation of parasitological diagnosis of malaria parasite across\u00a0project supported\u00a0state<\/li>\n<li>Develop a\u00a0concept note\u00a0for the\u00a0implementation of\u00a0diagnosis quality assurance system\u00a0(Microscopy and\u00a0mRDTS)<\/li>\n<li>Support the mapping of stakeholders for the development of framework for quality assurance.<\/li>\n<li>Support the establishment of quality assurance\u00a0system\u00a0across\u00a0project\u00a0supported states.<\/li>\n<li>Participate in program\u00a0technical\u00a0review\u00a0activities.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate the design and implementation of suitable capacity building matrix for various cadres of Laboratory service\u00a0personnel\u00a0on quality malaria diagnosis skills.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a database of all participants trained by the project across all states for malaria\u00a0diagnosis (BMMT, ECAMM, NCAMM &amp;\u00a0mRDTs) and\u00a0support states to use training databases for data-informed planning and decision making at federal and state levels.<\/li>\n<li>Support engagement with high-level stakeholders at the N\/SPHCDA, F\/SMOH,\u00a0NMEP, MLSCN, ALGON\/LGC\/LGHA, and other relevant stakeholders including implementing partners and CSOs to strengthen collaboration and foster commitment for effective implementation of the project\u2019s activities on\u00a0parasite-based\u00a0diagnosis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Serve as\u00a0focal\u00a0point for the implementation of parasitological based diagnosis of malaria:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support the state malaria implementation officers in rolling out activities on malaria diagnosis\u00a0(microscopy\u00a0and or\u00a0mRDTs).<\/li>\n<li>Lead the planning and implementation of continuous capacity development efforts through quality supportive supervision of using OTSS for malaria laboratory\u00a0services.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate and ensure\u00a0selection\u00a0of\u00a0suitable\u00a0short-term\u00a0TA for malaria diagnosis\u00a0and TES implementation.<\/li>\n<li>Review field reports on malaria diagnosis activities and make\u00a0appropriate recommendations<\/li>\n<li>Technical support for roll-out of\u00a0activities related to malaria diagnosis\u00a0and\u00a0TES at\u00a0National and state levels<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with M&amp;E unit to collate\u00a0data\u00a0from diagnostic activities at the state level.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to message development by BCC to create demand for\u00a0quality diagnosis\u00a0and case management<\/li>\n<li>Support planning\u00a0meeting,\u00a0workshop\u00a0for national consultants\u00a0involved in diagnostic profiling in collaboration with M&amp;E team.<\/li>\n<li>Attend technical meetings and make reports to the\u00a0project\u00a0management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Support the development of tools,\u00a0SOPs\u00a0and training materials\u00a0for malaria diagnosis:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Support processes for development of tools for malaria diagnosis at NMEP<\/li>\n<li>Participate in technical meetings and workshops hosted by NMEP and RBM partnership to improve malaria parasite diagnosis<\/li>\n<li>Review and make inputs into technical documents developed to improve malaria diagnosis\u00a0and\u00a0case management<\/li>\n<li>Participate in development and updating of training materials on malaria diagnosis<\/li>\n<li>Support\u00a0for RDT Implementation Research conducted by NMEP and\u00a0RBM\u00a0partnership<\/li>\n<li>Design and pre-test tools for malaria\u00a0diagnosis (Microscopy &amp;\u00a0mRDTS) quality assurance activities.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate training on\u00a0parasite-based\u00a0diagnosis at all levels of implementation\u00a0and Serve as the project\u2019s technical expert for capacity building initiatives on malaria diagnosis.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure\u00a0project\u2019s\u00a0capacity building initiatives for malaria diagnosis and\u00a0TES are\u00a0aligned with global best practices using standard training curriculum and efficient training methodologies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Facilitate and coordinate the implementation of annual anti malaria drug efficacy studies:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In collaboration\u00a0with\u00a0NMEP\u00a0case management unit, support the development of annual TES study protocol and approval of ethical clearance with NEREC for the study.<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate and support NMEP case management in\u00a0development\u00a0of TES study budget, workplan development and identification of study sites.<\/li>\n<li>Support the development of specifications for\u00a0commodities,\u00a0equipment\u2019s\u00a0and Laboratory reagents for the study\/ procurement.<\/li>\n<li>Provide technical support for all\u00a0components\u00a0of TES study\u00a0(HR, budget, site selections and assessment and field work\u00a0implementation).<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance and leadership for engagement of various collaborative agencies for the conduct of molecular studies.<\/li>\n<li>Support and\u00a0facilitate\u00a0perquisite training for various TES personnel and ensure proper conduct of field study monitoring\u00a0visit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Experience<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Excellent understanding of technical considerations guiding recommendations on policies and\u00a0principle\u00a0in malaria training \/certification system for malaria microscopy.<\/li>\n<li>Must\u00a0possess\u00a0a good knowledge of operation of Nigerian Laboratory service system, a highly skilled Medical Laboratory scientist will be a preferred option.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable report writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Must be proficient in essential computer packages such as Microsoft office packages.<\/li>\n<li>Experience working on\u00a0PMI and\u00a0Ukaid\u00a0funded malaria\u00a0project\u00a0for at\u00a0least\u00a0minimum\u00a0of 10\u00a0years\u00a0progressive status.<\/li>\n<li>Good experience\u00a0in supporting the training of malaria diagnosis over a measurable period.<\/li>\n<li>Possesses a minimum qualification of AIMLS, FIMLS, and\u00a0BMLS,\u00a0postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrable knowledge of strategic planning for laboratory services in Nigeria.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency\u00a0with Microsoft Office Suite.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to multi-task and oversee a number of ongoing activities.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent networking skills.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with standard operating procedures in the laboratory services in Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Must\u00a0demonstrate\u00a0an expertise\u00a0in\u00a0microscopy and
